Plot: Originally inspired by true events of young hasidic Jewish men smuggling ecstasy into the United States, The Tailor's Apprentice maps out a father-son relationship. Full summary » | »
Story: Because of the unexpected loss of his wife and a haunting past of time spent in the military, Helick has made promises to G-d, one being to never kill again, by ways of a cold and strict religious lifestyle. Using religion as a tool to hide from his own self, Helick pushes his children away with his over controlling ways and neglects to show them true love and care. In doing so, his son Dovid, impulsively runs away to aid in a drug smuggling operation in an attempt to prove his independence; overlooking all dangers involved. With the absence of his son, Helick is forced to face his ultimate dilemma; religion, or his family by ways of breaking promises to save them. Written byAnonymous
